Subsidies for electric vehicles
The call for the MOVES III support programme to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of recharging points is extended for an additional period of six months and will remain in force until 30 June 2025.
The resolution of the Director-General of the Basque Energy Agency, Mikel Amundarain, will be published at the BOPV tomorrow Tuesday, 31 December 2024. With this, the Basque Country achieves in time and in a way that the main aids to electric mobility continue in force during the first semester of 2025 and can thus continue to promote sustainable mobility.
The Basque Energy Agency (EVE) is committed to moving towards a mobility model based on environmental, economic and social principles. The shift towards renewable energy vehicles is becoming increasingly evident, as the sale of “alternative” vehicles (hybrids, electricity and gas) continues to gain ground. In turn, the new Basque strategy for electric mobility has a significant impact on added value, employment, business competitiveness and innovation.
MOVES III
The MOVES III grant programme is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience plan financed by the European Union and managed in the Basque Country by the EVE. The total financial envelope of the programme amounts to EUR 65 million, of which EUR 35 million promotes the purchase of electric vehicles and EUR 30 million for the implementation of charging infrastructure. To date, 17,400 aid applications have been received, of which 91% have already been resolved.
