- Participation in the Call for Interest H2MED call for information will be open until 18 December.
The Basque Energy Agency, an energy agency of the Basque Government, in collaboration with the Energy Cluster and the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C), has brought together the bulk of the Basque industry capable of producing or using hydrogen in its production processes with the aim of informing about the consultation recently opened by the promoters of the hydrogen transport corridor in the Iberian Peninsula, and which, although not in a binding way
The information webinar has brought together about half a hundred Basque companies interested in this call for consultation that aims to know the production and consumption needs of renewable hydrogen by the industry by 2030. The result obtained in this call can be decisive for the future construction of transport infrastructures of this important energy vector in the Energy Transition to a decarbonised system, and for the very competitiveness of the Basque industry.
For this reason, the webinar has set out the main keys to this call, which will remain open until December 18, since it is essential that Euskadi agents interested in producing, consuming or marketing renewable hydrogen by 2030 take part in this process. This is a crucial opportunity for the Basque industry to show its muscle and to be able to influence through its input in the decision-making on which sections of the corridor will be settled in the first place and in the final route.
The call for consultation or call for interest has been launched by the promoters of the H2Med project (REN, Enagas, GRTgaz, Terega and OGE) to identify the production and consumption needs of renewable hydrogen throughout the future corridor linking the Iberian Peninsula with the rest of Europe by 2030. The information gathered through this call may favor the construction of hydrogen infrastructures in our environment.
