PRO-LITE

Procurement of Lighting Innovation and Technology in Europe (PRO-LITE)

Project co-financed by the European Commission to support the development of guidance for public-sector authorities on ways of consolidating their procurement power to create economies of scale, find innovative means of procurement and drive European economies.

PRO-LITE aims to show ways in which public sector organisations can overcome procurement barriers to deliver innovative and cost-effective technologies for their organisations and at the same time support economic growth.

PRO-LITE will focus on the procurement of innovative lighting technologies and solutions offering social, environmental and economic benefits.

Specific aims

  1. To position project partners as smart buyers
  2. To identify and address barriers to innovation procurement, especially in regard to specifications and hiring.
  3. To train and upskill partners through the innovation procurement process.
  4. To complete at least three operations to purchase innovative lighting solutions in the following areas: Buildings (new/rehabilitation) focusing on schools, traffic lights and lighting in metropolitan railways and tunnels
  5. To present new innovations; economically profitable, efficient and socially acceptable.
  6. To disseminate the results
