MaTINET 2 is a European Union initiative, with 39 members from 13 countries. The aim is to provide developers of marine energy devices with free access to key European research infrastructures. The network has a budget of approximately €10.5 million and an implementation period of four and half years.
Evolving from MaRINET, MaRINET2, is working towards its vision of unlocking the energy potential of our oceans. The specific and measurable objectives of MaRINET2 include standardisation of tests, improved quality, robustness and accuracy of physical modelling and testing practices, fostering networking between researchers in Europe through transnational access to the infrastructures and encouraging interchange and dissemination of research results.
